MIAMISBURG BAND BOOSTERS

 

PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of the Miamisburg Band Boosters Association is to act as a support group for the entire band program. This includes Concert Bands, Marching Band, Fall Color Guard, and other band ensembles.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization shall be to further the best interest of the Miamisburg School Instrumental Music Program, including the Fall Color Guard, but providing moral and financial support in a working partnership with the Faculty, School Administration and Board of Education to provide effective band programs.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership in the Association shall be open to any and all parents or guardians of students in one or more of the Miamisburg High School Band programs. Any member can be elected to one of several officer and director positions. The Board of Directors meets once a month in open meetings and all members of the association are welcome to attend.

INVOLVEMENT

There is a level of involvement for everyone in the Miamisburg Band Boosters Association. Beyond financial support, the Band Boosters provide volunteer time and moral support at competitions, concerts, and any other event of the band program. Students and staff greatly appreciate any time parents have to give to this organization.

NOTE:  Band Booster positions are ELECTED annually, and serve a term from January 1st to December 31st. 

    

BOOSTER SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

 

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Each spring the Miamisburg Band Boosters award a minimum of three $250.00 senior scholarships to members of the graduating class.  To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must be an active participant in at least one of the band programs.  The Band Director will assemble a list of questions, and applicants are tasked to write an essay.  The Band Booster Scholarship Committee reviews all essays, and ranks them according to those in which they feel are the most accomplished.  These scholarships are presented at the Band Awards Banquet.

 

UNDERCLASSMEN SCHOLARSHIPS

Each spring the Miamisburg Band Boosters award numerous scholarships for varying dollar amounts to underclassmen desiring to seek continuing education opportunities.  These scholarships are designed to encourage students to:  take private lessons, attend music camps or seminars, and/or any other applicable NON-CURRICULAR program that enhance their music education.  To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must be an active participant in at least one of the band programs.  The Band Director will assemble a list of questions, and applicants are tasked to write an essay.  The Band Booster Scholarship Committee reviews all essays, and ranks them according to those in which they feel are the most accomplished.  These scholarships are presented at the Band Awards Banquet.
