BAND CAMP:

Band Camp (at Miamisburg High School) requires NUMEROUS volunteers to provide the many necessary services, and run efficiently.  Full-time, part-time and situational arrangements can be accommodated for volunteer positions - so please consider helping when and where you can.  Also keep in mind that male and female volunteers are needed to attend to gender issues as well as to provide situational expertise and/or brawn as required.

Volunteers are needed for the following areas:

FOOD SERVICE EVOLUTIONS

(food preparation, cooking, serving and clean up)

CHAPERONE DUTIES

(supervise activities and/or stay overnight to maintain decorum)

HEALTH SERVICES

(day-time and over-night medical first responder duties)

FIELD OPERATIONS

(supplying water, ice and needed resources to band and guard sites)

ACTIVITIES COORDINATION

PROFESSIONALS:

First responder assistance is being sought to help during BANDCAMP, GAMES, and COMPETITIONS.  In all situations, arrangements are made to have PARAMEDICS available on-site or on call for the health and welfare of the members of the band.  In the interest of ensuring that the highest preventative measures are in place, the Miamisburg Band Boosters make every attempt to arrange for a trained professional to be in close proximity and travel with the group for all events.  If you have credentials of this nature, and are willing to provide assistance, please contact the Band Booster's Student Activities Directors (Glenn and Amy Goetz) or the Operations and Transportation Directors (Jim and Karen Hodde) to inquire what events need medical volunteers.

SHOWS,

COMPETITIONS AND

FOOTBALL GAMES:

When the band travels, it requires a small army to make everything come off like clockwork.  From planning for the event to returning home, many seemingly thankless jobs need to be done to complete each event safely, and in minimal time.  "Pitching in" is what it takes, and it takes special people to step forward and be depended upon during the season.  When everyone lends a helping hand (however they can), it keeps a small group of people from having to experience "band burnout".  Most everyone that gets involved  will find that it's quite an enjoyable experience......and a great behind the scenes look at what happens before, after and during the show!  Having new experiences, making new friends, and spending time with the kids - it's something you just can't resist!

Volunteers are needed for the following areas:
